How to read One Piece
Official sources only — the story deserves it, and so does Oda.
Digital, cheap or free
- MANGA Plus by Shueisha — Shueisha's own app, available in most of the world. The first chapters and the latest chapters are free; a modest subscription opens the whole run.
- Shonen Jump app (VIZ) — in the US and select regions, a few dollars a month for the entire catalogue in English. The best value in comics, full stop.
- VIZ Media volumes — the official English print edition, sold everywhere books are. Box sets cover the early sagas at a steep per-volume discount if you know you're committing.
- Your library — most public libraries carry One Piece and will happily order volumes they don't have. Free is official too.
Where to start
Chapter 1. No shortcuts, no "skip to the good part" — it is all the good part, and the opening pages are load-bearing. As you go, keep your log here and look up anything you've met, safely.
